Sazerac

I had the honors of picking our destination for the first week of our Revolution. After a little bit of research I landed on Sazerac next to Hotel Monaco. I was attracted to several aspects of their Happy Hour. First, it runs from 4:00 - 8:00. By my math four hours of happy hour is twice as good as two! Next they have several drink specials. Beer and wine starting at $3 along with $6 Cosmos, Lemon Drops, Margaritas, Manhattans, and Well Martinis. Finally they have several food options ranging from $3 to $6.

We started off the happy hour with a pair of Manhattans on the rocks for Sarkis and myself along with a glass of Chardonnay for Teddi. The Manhattans lived up to our expectations from a bar named after a whiskey. Not too sweet and plenty of rye. Next we ordered up some sliders. We went with the BBQ Pulled Pork and Mini Sourdough Grilled Cheese ($4 each). Both were equally amazing! The pulled pork came out as 3 sliders and included white cheddar. The grilled cheese was was not in fact a slider but simply a traditional grilled cheese cut into 3 sections. We were pretty sure we could eat several more orders of both items but that it was best if we didn't :). We did however place additional orders of our original drink choices a time or two...

After a few more drinks we decided we couldn't pass up an appetizer from their daily specials menu. For $8 we went with the "Grilled Platter" which included a few Hot Wings, Baby Back Ribs, and an Italian Sausage. The perfect dessert to any Happy Hour!!

A few notes: The bar area was quite busy by 6:00 and we recommend getting their early to get a table. The clientele was mostly 30s - 40s. You have to go through the Monaco lobby and downstairs to get to the restrooms... This turned out to be an adventure for some of us.

All in all we had a great experience and would recommend this Happy Hour to anyone.

Oh and be careful how many Manhattans you have... You may tell a few embarrassing stories!
