On this lovely Friday, we went to Boka Kitchen and Bar in Hotel 1000. Boka was the most upscale place we have been for our happy hour adventures thus far. The bar and dining area has a sleek, modern feel with several tables, open seating areas and private booths set off to the side; making this a destination for big parties and small ones alike.
We had a larger group of revolutionaries with us this Friday and were nicely accommodated in a big swooping booth with several comfortable bar stools (OK probably too many) to satisfy our ever-growing crew, which included Dempsey's parents who were in town visiting. The menu consisted primarily of small plates: crab cakes, oysters, flat bread, cheeses, etc. The drink menu had an extensive wine list and several hand crafted cocktails. I have heard they have amazing bloody mary's here, but we were here for the happy hour fare (and a couple of dinner drinks if things go well).
Happy hour goes from 2:30 to 6:00 and 10:00 to close seven days a week. You have to love the 2:30 start time! Not many options to choose from, but everything is pretty top notch. Happy hour offerings are:
- $4 draft beer
- $5 well drinks
- $6 glasses of wine (one red and one white)
- Select "Boka" food items are half off (about five or six choices)
Other random ramblings:
- Great service
- Our cocktail waitress moonlights as a belly dancer
- Bathrooms were awesome
- Back bar changes color every 15 minutes
- Cocktails were solid, but Manhattans were only so so
- There was a cool ice/bottle display at the bar (shown in pic above)
Seattle Happy Hour Revolution has saved my life! Before the Blog, it was impossible to find any good happy hour spots in Seattle. But now I can follow the revolution each week and try new spots. Thanks Seattle Happy Hour Revolution, for making my Fridays worth drinking again.

Thanks for letting us join in on the fun as we have had that happy hour revolution spirit as visiting Seattlites for quite awhile. Love trying new places and hangin' with that youthful spirit...why I even had my nails done while out on the town! Can't wait 'til next time...a toast to friendship and family.
